The property also spans to the North of U.S. 41 where we operate our world famous swamp buggy tours. Wooten’s offers Airboat Tours, Swamp Buggy Rides, as well as the Animal Sanctuary & Live Alligator Show. You can also hold a baby alligator while visiting here at Wooten’s Everglades Airboat Tours.
Wooten’s Everglades Airboat Tours ensures that you will not be traveling in residential areas, deep-water canals, cut river channels, or tidewater areas. Wooten’s is the first airboat company in the southwest Florida area and operates in the middle of the Big Cypress National Preserve and the only company in the Everglades City area that offers the total package.

One Sunday afternoon Raymond decided to take his family for an outing on his home made wooden airboat. Just when they were getting ready to take off on their adventure another family of tourist traveling on the Famous Tamiami Trail (HWY 41) stopped and asked Raymond if “they could get a ride on that thing”. Working as a mechanic by day, and frog & alligator hunter by night, Raymond, saved enough money to buy a bit of swampland in Ochopee, just off of U.S. 41, and the rest is history.

The Swamp Buggy Tour Located on the North Side of the property, takes you slowly down into the Grasslands prairie, by an old Indian Campsite, and into a dense and lush Cypress Swamp. Where you can relax and experience some of the most beautiful swamp in the Everglades. Exotic foliage abounds, and you never know what may be around the next bend, or tree. In the fall and winter months nesting Bald Eagle and Manatee sightings are often observed. Have your camera’s ready on these tours ! You’ll never know what you may see !

Wooten’s Animal Sanctuary is home to not only some of the largest Alligators in captivity, but crocodiles, panthers, natives snakes, turtles, panther, deer. Also, some not so native like our Siberian tigers Boris & Daisy.
Other native wildlife can be seen in the wild such as the American Bald Eagle. C’mon, take a walk on the wild side and stroll through this almost 2-acre facility and get an up close and personal look at some of The Florida Everglades most beautiful residents.
Be sure to stop by and says hello to Charlie, at the alligator show, our experienced handlers will show, and educate to you the basics of these fascinating, misunderstood, creatures.
You can also have your picture taking with Charlies’ little brothers, Fred & Dino. And don’t forget, you get to hold a baby Alligator while you’re here at Wooten’s Animal Sanctuary
